Phoenix Park is, uhm, a bit big. We (read: I) decided it would make a good place to park in Dublin, then catch the tourist bus to get a look round the touristy bits of the city. A couple of years previously such a tour had proved very entertaining, and a useful way to get around without too much walking for my grandfather. It was just as entertaining this time, but unfortunately we managed to park over a mile from the bus stop in the Park; ah well, a nice spot of exercise anyway.
This is the better of my two attempts at photographing the Phoenix Monument; crud-eyes here couldn't quite make out which way the bird faced until he got back and looked at the pictures, otherwise I'd have stood in the median of the road around it and taken one head-on!
